The other day I happen to see a Kinja Deal on the front page.

My old 3 ton jack was leaking fluid, did not have a smooth release, and after screwing around with oils and o-rings, I was still not happy with it.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I think Amazon said it would be here on Monday, but nope, it showed up this morning. $134.00

Kinja'd!!!

I swear to god, this one paid for our Prime membership alone.

Kinja'd!!!

Here's ten pumps from each jack. I like this.

Kinja'd!!!

Ready for the recycle bin. I forgot to weigh this, but it's got to be 10-15 lbs more than the new one.

Kinja'd!!!

I never thought I would thank Kinja for anything.

This is the perfect defense for people who can't park!

Yes and no.

It's a seven passenger Wolfsburg edition, and Westfalia was responsible for configuring this trim level (as well as the campers).

However, since the full camper model (and the kitchenless pop-top Weekender) are so much more, and most often refereed to as "Westy" and "Westfalia," I don't ever call mine a "Westy" because it's misleading.

The weekender was the one with the closet right?

I've always liked how configurable those things were. Thanks for the run down!

Yes, the "weekender" or "Multivan" is my car plus the rear closet and the pop-top. It has two rearward facing jump seats (or one, in the case of the pre 1986.5 models) and the pop-out table.

I've been watching videos of those things and totally marveling at their attention to detail and the features they stuck into those things.

From what I've heard, the fridges are culo though.

For what it's worth - I have owned the same Jack for a year. It's still as good as new after several oil changes, a couple brake jobs and WRX clutch and timing belt change.

Zero aluminum in that old thing. It was 95 lbs.

Lots of folks have retrofitted the three way (AC/DC/propane) fridge with a modern one...

....or eliminate it all together for some extra storage, and pack a cooler.
